GE HealthCare has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Revolution Vibe CT system, a cardiac imaging platform aimed at improving efficiency and diagnostic precision in coronary CT angiography (CCTA).
The system's first global installation was recently completed at Radiologie du Var – ELSAN in Ollioules, France. The site is among the country’s highest-volume cardiovascular imaging providers and operates across three locations in the Toulon region.
According to GE HealthCare, the Revolution Vibe is designed to perform full-heart imaging in a single beat — even in the absence of an ECG trace. It integrates AI-enabled workflow tools that aim to reduce scan time and patient prep, while streamlining scheduling and potentially doubling CCTA capacity.

In clinical evaluations, the system demonstrated a 50% reduction in overall exam time and saved up to five minutes per scan during patient preparation, according to the company. Features such as ECG-less scanning, SnapShot Freeze 2 motion correction, and automated protocol selection contribute to these reported gains in efficiency.
The Revolution Vibe is intended for use in complex cardiac cases, including those involving arrhythmias, coronary calcification, stents, or prior bypass surgery. Its AI-driven features are built to reduce reliance on beta blockers and ECG setup, which can be time-consuming or contraindicated for certain patients.
“Revolution Vibe’s FDA clearance comes at the perfect time, with guidelines being adopted clinically for cardiac CT and with positive reimbursement driving procedure growth,” said Jean-Luc Procaccini, president and CEO of molecular imaging and computed tomography at GE HealthCare.
Radiologie du Var – ELSAN now operates a fleet of ten imaging systems, including multiple MRI platforms and a spectral CT scanner. The center has integrated the Revolution Vibe into its broader imaging network to support faster cardiac diagnoses and reduce workflow bottlenecks.
While cardiac imaging is a core use case, the system also supports general diagnostic applications.
