Mindray North America has joined its global affiliates in supporting Mercy Ships, a nonprofit organization that operates hospital ships delivering free surgical care and medical training in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Mahwah, New Jersey-based company will supply a range of medical technologies to bolster clinical services aboard Mercy Ships' vessels.
Mercy Ships currently operates two floating hospitals, Global Mercy and Africa Mercy, which travel to underserved regions where access to safe surgical care is limited. Both ships now operate with more than 350 Mindray systems, including patient monitors, anesthesia machines, ultrasound devices, defibrillators, and central monitoring platforms.

The expanded partnership builds on a relationship that began in 2017 between Mindray's global organization and Mercy Ships. The North American division is contributing advanced ultrasound systems and other technologies intended to support high-acuity care in remote and resource-limited settings.
"At Mindray, we are driven by a vision of better healthcare for all. Our partnership with Mercy Ships allows us to live out this mission, ensuring that leading-edge medical technologies reach those who need them most, even in the most challenging environments," said Wayne Quinn, president of Mindray North America.
Mercy Ships, founded in 1978, is a faith-based organization that collaborates with African nations to improve surgical capacity and provide clinical training. It also supports the development of healthcare infrastructure in host countries. According to the organization, over 2,500 medical and non-medical volunteers from more than 60 countries serve aboard its ships each year.
By extending its support through its North American operations, Mindray joins a broader effort to deliver an estimated 50,000 surgeries through the partnership, while contributing to long-term health system strengthening across the continent.
