Siemens Healthineers has entered a five-year strategic alliance with NYU Langone Health aimed at expanding diagnostic imaging capabilities across the health system's locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Long Island.

The agreement includes the procurement of a broad range of imaging equipment, such as MR, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, molecular imaging, angiography and C-arm systems. The deal also outlines a $100 million service component, which includes integrated, vendor-agnostic support for imaging equipment during after-hours operations. A dedicated service manager and a rapid-response engineering team will be deployed to address equipment issues as they arise.

The new collaboration builds on a 20-year relationship between the imaging OEM and NYU Langone. The institutions have previously collaborated on clinical firsts in MR, including motion-insensitive body scans and the use of AI to accelerate image reconstruction.

“Our team is constantly searching for ways to maximize productivity and improve patient care,” said Dr. Michael P. Recht, chair of the Department of Radiology at NYU Langone Health. “We look forward to working closely with Siemens Healthineers in a long-term partnership in pursuit of these core goals.”

The alliance is expected to support continued clinical innovation, with a focus on expanding access to photon-counting CT, advanced neuro and musculoskeletal imaging, and broader AI integration across radiology services.

“We believe that patients deserve not only the best available healthcare technology, but that those systems should be working as intended to provide convenient and efficient care,” said John Kowal, president and head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers. “These agreements help to ensure both.”
