SpectronRx has significantly expanded its Grissom Aeroplex manufacturing campus near Bunker Hill, Indiana, increasing the site’s footprint to 34 acres and roughly 200,000 square feet of current good manufacturing practice (GMP) space.

The buildout includes a newly constructed 150,000-square-foot facility, aimed at scaling production of radiopharmaceuticals for therapeutic and diagnostic use.

The expansion enhances the company’s ability to manage the full development and manufacturing lifecycle; from isotope production and early-stage R&D, through to commercial-scale supply. According to the Indianapolis-based company, the Grissom site is designed for high-throughput production and is currently capable of supporting over 300,000 patient doses annually.

“Radiopharmaceutical demand is rising faster than at any time in our industry’s history,” said John Zehner, CEO of SpectronRx. “Our expansion at Grissom Aeroplex ensures we can scale ahead of that demand.”

The company notes the campus could eventually scale to over one million square feet, offering long-term flexibility to meet projected global needs. It currently operates more than 400,000 square feet of total radiopharmaceutical manufacturing space across five GMP-compliant facilities in Indiana, Connecticut, and Belgium.

In addition to radioligand therapy (RLT) and diagnostic production, the expanded Grissom Aeroplex campus will support isotope generation, high-capacity labeling, and commercial fill-finish services. Infrastructure upgrades include distributed manufacturing assets, redundant power systems, and isolated production suites built to meet both U.S. and international GMP standards.

The location offers logistical advantages, with access to a general aviation airport and proximity to major freight hubs. SpectronRx reports it supplies radiopharmaceutical products across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

“Our purpose is to enable our partners’ success at commercial scale,” said Anwer Rizvi, president of SpectronRx. “By dedicating our resources, facilities and expertise to their programs, we accelerate development, ensure reliable supply and deliver the manufacturing readiness required to serve patients worldwide.”
