Medtronic and Mindray North America are expanding their long-standing collaboration beyond hospital settings, aiming to bring integrated patient monitoring technologies to ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) across the United States.
Mindray and Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring business have previously worked together to integrate technologies such as BIS brain monitoring and INVOS regional oximetry in perioperative environments. This extended partnership is designed to adapt those solutions for use in ASCs, aligning with broader trends toward shifting procedures from hospitals to outpatient facilities.
“This expanded collaboration with Medtronic underscores our shared vision to make advanced monitoring technology more accessible across all points of care,” said Wayne Quinn, president of Mindray North America. “As more procedures shift to outpatient settings, we’re proud to deliver the same level of advanced monitoring and clinical insight that hospitals rely on.”

The companies are combining a range of technologies — Medtronic’s Microstream capnography, BIS monitoring, Nellcor pulse oximetry, and INVOS oximetry — with Mindray’s platforms to streamline adoption in ASCs. Blake Tatum, vice president of U.S. Commercial for Medtronic Acute Care & Monitoring, said, “Every patient deserves reliable, high‑quality monitoring no matter where their procedure takes place.”
The partnership also aims to reduce barriers to acquisition and support by leveraging both companies’ distribution networks and providing integrated systems designed for ease of procurement and implementation. Future plans include deploying next-generation tools such as the INVOS 7100 oximetry system and updated BIS monitors.
Mindray and Medtronic say the initiative supports broader healthcare goals around cost efficiency, clinical workflow improvement, and enhanced patient safety in outpatient settings.
