Medline has begun construction on a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center in Midlothian, Texas, as the company expands its U.S. logistics network following its December initial public offering.
The Northfield, Illinois-based medical-surgical products supplier said the facility will become its second distribution center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, complementing an existing site in Wilmer. The new site is scheduled to begin operations in the second quarter of 2027.
Medline operates a national network of 45 distribution centers and more than 26 million square feet of warehouse space across the U.S. The company said the Midlothian facility is part of its broader effort to expand capacity as demand from healthcare providers grows.

The distribution center will incorporate the same automation technologies used at other large Medline facilities, including the AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system. Such systems are designed to improve inventory management and order fulfillment efficiency.
“Today we have more than 26 million square feet of warehouse space in the U.S., and we are continuing to invest in our network as our customers’ needs grow,” said Sean Halligan, executive vice president of operations for Medline. “Our vast network of distribution centers, 80 days of on-hand inventory, advanced technologies and owned fleet of trucks demonstrate our relentless focus on our customers and our drive to meet their evolving and growing needs.”
The company said the Midlothian center will distribute products to healthcare providers across multiple care settings, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, physician offices, nursing homes and hospices.
According to Halligan, Medline’s distribution infrastructure allows the company to provide next-day delivery to most of its U.S. customer base.
“Our network of distribution centers strategically located across the country enables us to provide next-day delivery to 95% of our customers in the U.S.,” Halligan said. “We were thrilled many of our local customers, elected officials and community stakeholders in Midlothian joined us in celebrating this exciting groundbreaking.”
Medline employs more than 45,000 people worldwide and operates in more than 100 countries.
