FDA Cleared April 28, 2023
Radiology Oncology Systems has entered an agreement with Nanox Impact, a subsidiary of Nano-X Imaging, to distribute the Nanox.ARC imaging system in the United States, expanding access to lower-dose 3D imaging technology across a range of care settings.
Nanox.ARC is cleared by the FDA and uses multisource digital tomosynthesis to generate three-dimensional images. The system is positioned as an alternative to conventional CT, with a lower radiation dose and reduced cost profile.
Radiology Oncology Systems, which supplies diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy equipment, plans to market the system to radiation oncology clinics, imaging centers, and hospitals, including facilities in rural and regional areas. The San Diego, California-based company has focused on refurbished and pre-owned systems for more than two decades and is adding the Nanox.ARC to broaden its offering.

“ROS is pleased to enter into this agreement with Nanox because the Nanox.ARC fits the way we think about the future of medical imaging,” said John Vano, president and CEO of Radiology Oncology Systems. “Many of our customers are looking for imaging technologies that are lower dose, lower cost, easier to implement, and more practical for real-world clinical environments.”
The companies expect the system to be used in several clinical contexts. In radiation oncology, it may support imaging needs tied to patient evaluation and treatment workflows. Imaging centers could use the system to expand service capacity, while hospitals with limited resources may adopt it to reduce reliance on referrals to larger facilities.
“This is the type of technology ROS is excited to market,” Vano added. “We are interested in imaging solutions that help providers do more with less: systems that are affordable, clinically useful, and realistic for the types of facilities we serve every day.”
Radiology Oncology Systems will support commercial rollout through its existing customer network, while Nanox continues to build out its U.S. distribution strategy.
