Dennis Anderson, President of the small company, says Rainbow sells domestically and internationally to countries in the Caribbean including St. Kitts, Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

Anderson says there is a growing need for more mammography access in those areas, especially as people become more aware of the necessity for mammography, and the government feels the need to respond by allowing more equipment and private practices, and to add to services that are provided already and through missionary projects and foreign aid.
Because of the ability for digital imaging to be sent elsewhere to be read by a radiologist, small nations can access care without a pre-existing infrastructure, much like how the use of cell phones allows access to calls without traditional telephone line infrastructure, Anderson explains. A remote location can have a working technician to take the image, and send it to the radiologist a long distance away. Anderson has been very gratified to help these areas attain good equipment at a reasonable price.
Anderson finds his preowned equipment for Rainbow utilizing a custom network and alliance with other small companies. The cooperation allows for a minimal sales force and use of each other's testing equipment. For larger projects, they work collectively and in that manner are able to compete with larger service providers.
Anderson's experience goes back 30 years. Rainbow has been in business since 1984. He is focusing more on rebuilding equipment. Field service is lucrative at present. Anderson's clients include hospitals and medical centers. His experience is well-known enough that other than DOTmed, his work is attained through word of mouth. Anderson uses DOTmed and his recent DOTmed Certified status to open the door to new contacts and customers.
The reputation is based upon experience and customer satisfaction. Anderson has seen many companies come and go who have tried to attract customers with an aggressive song and dance, but no substance; those in a medical practice know it's all smoke. The consumers want quality and reliability. Anderson says, "Reliability is important, especially for mammography if the room is down. If a room goes down on a Friday and I can't be there until Tuesday, my customers would rather wait, knowing I am reliable to show up on Tuesday, than [hire] an untested new service." For medical practices specializing in mammography, making the practice work means consistent scheduling. To have to reschedule causes more trouble and expense in staff and deters customers. Anderson's reliability, combined with flexibility, ensures that the customers keep coming.
