Aydogan Polat, President of MEDSER Medical Services in Frankfurt, Germany, is pleased to be on DOTmed's 100 and says that since 1998 MEDSER has been offering experience and competence regarding the sale of preowned and refurbished medical equipment, especially in the area of diagnostic radiology. "We offer this service not only in Germany but also worldwide--procurement and sales, maintenance and service whether computer or magnetic resonance tomography. Hospitals, practices, universities and animal [hospitals] profit from tested and maintained high-tech equipment, which conforms to all the safety inspections and specifications regularized by law (German and local)," he says.
Polat's expertise in the medical equipment business goes back to 1992, and MEDSER has been active in the market since 1998. MEDSER obtains its equipment from clinics and occasionally brokers. The primary clientele are hospitals, veterinary clinics and brokers. The attention to detail in preparing equipment for sale, working with the clients, and after-sales service is how MEDSER maintains its reputation. The company buys the systems, refurbishes and installs them in its warehouse before placing an offer on the market. Every one of the spare parts in inventory is tested before the storage and before delivery. MEDSER trains its technical staff in-house on servicing the equipment.

Polat comments, "Since we install every system in our warehouse, our clients have a chance to see and check them. Nobody has to buy a pig in a poke. We have always 5-15 systems installed in our warehouse, so we can satisfy almost every requirement in the shortest possible time."
How does that attention to detail help MEDSER stand out in the global market? Polat says that in offering both service and sales, the clients have the confidence to buy a system in an excellent condition with a long lifetime.
"From individual consultation over delivery and expert installation to remote diagnostic services, the MEDSER team of specialists is continuously trained in latest technology developments, which guarantees the highest-level, quality oriented work. All equipment is shipped worldwide and guarantees sustainable security and excellent image quality around the globe," he says. In addition, the company offers maintenance contracts and is able to answer any technical question for support after sales.
Polat is pleased to say that business is growing phenomenally due to service and sales--since 2004 MEDSER has doubled its volume every year. MEDSER sells parts and equipment via DOTmed and buys parts as well. With Polat's experience and commitment to quality, it's not surprising that he is on the DOTmed 100 this year.
