New Interactive Digital Posters Facilitate Communication for Medical Professionals

by Becky Jacoby, Reporter | January 07, 2009
Operating on a wireless network, using a 42-inch screen with a touch frame overlay and a media player, the medical community who attends professional events can now experience communication facilitated through database-driven interactive posters.

ASVideo, Madrid, Spain, specializes in audio-visual systems for the medical and pharmaceutical industries. The company, in association with Scala, Inc., developed an interactive digital poster which can be displayed on a 42-inch portrait-oriented screen as a solution to providing interactive content where printed posters once reigned: medical congresses, physician's offices, anywhere a poster network would be displayed.

A single wireless network can accommodate up to 15 digital posters, allowing vendors to receive substantial branded exposure from content that includes text, graphics, medical scans and videos. The poster's interactivity also provides feedback as it allows participants to vote for their favorite content. The vote is registered through a bar code from the participant's identification badge.
