ALEXANDRIA, VA - October 14, 2005 - SureScripts, the nation's largest network provider of electronic prescribing services, and Cerner Corp., a top supplier of healthcare information technology (IT), have announced an agreement to offer Cerner Millennium clients the ability to utilize the SureScripts Electronic Prescribing Network.

Once certified, thousands of physicians nationwide within integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and hospitals, as well as the physician offices, who use Cerner Millennium, will be able to transmit prescription orders directly to local participating community pharmacies. They will also receive and respond electronically to prescription renewal requests, thus minimizing time spent phoning and faxing.

"Cerner is one of the global leaders in unifying complex, enterprise-wide workflows, and our agreement reaffirms our companies' mutual commitment to implement more efficient patient care," said Kevin Hutchinson, president and CEO of SureScripts. "Like SureScripts, Cerner is committed to improving healthcare processes. We are pleased Cerner has expanded its solution offering with pharmacy connectivity and has joined SureScripts' effort to improve the prescribing process through a relationship between our two companies."
