DOTmed Working to Get Med Equip to Pakistan/India Earthquake Victims

by Krsnaa Fitch, Project Manager | October 19, 2005
DOTmed is in the process of partnering with several charities to try and help get donated medical equipment in the hands of those who need it in the areas affected by the earthquake.

DOTmed also contacted Pakistan International Airlines about their offer to ship donated items to Pakistan free of charge. They told us they would indeed fly the packages over, but that the items must come through an association or organization as well as conform to their procedures and regulations.

We at DOTmed requested our users to let us know if they had the following equipment available to send to the earthquake victims in Pakistan, India, and Kashmir:

Battery operated & mobile X-ray machines
Ventilators
Defibrillators
Patient monitors
ECG monitors
Blood pressure monitors
Suction machines
Head lamps
Portable O.R. lights
Mini sterilizers
Blood warmers
Syringe pumps

They have responded generously, letting us know they have the equipment ready for donation, or for sale at a minimal price. If you have any of these items and would like to donate them to the relief effort in Pakistan/India please email: charity@dotmed.com with your offer.

The "ball is rolling" toward getting the medical equipment to those in need. Please look for updates from DOTmed on this matter as we continue discussions with our several charity partners.
