DIA Appoints Dr. Tasuo Kurokawa Chair of Regional Advisory Council of Japan

HORSHAM, PA, USA - The Drug Information Association (DIA) has announced that Tatsuo Kurokawa, PhD, has been appointed Chair of DIA's Regional Advisory Council of Japan (ACJ), replacing Mr. Takatoshi Sato, who has been appointed Director, DIA Japan LLC.

During his career, Dr. Kurokawa has worked for the Ministry of Health and Welfare Japan (MHLW), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Organization for Pharmaceutical Safety and Research (currently Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency). In August 2004, Dr. Kurokawa was appointed Councilor for Pharmaceuticals and Food Safety, Minister's Secretariat, MHLW, Japan. Dr. Kurokawa is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University, Japan. Dr. Kurokawa will serve a three-year term as ACJ Chair.

Mr. Takatoshi Sato served as Chair of the ACJ from October 2003 until his appointment as Director, DIA Japan LLC. Mr. Sato has worked for Sandoz Yakuhin Co. Ltd, Japan Syntex Co. Ltd., Quintiles Asia Inc., and HyCLIPS Co. Ltd., where he served as President and Chairman. Mr. Sato currently works for HALD Inc., in Yokohama, Japan.
