Universal Hospital Services, a Minnesota-based medical equipment and management solutions provider, has opened new district offices in Memphis, TN, and Tupelo, MS, to service its growing customer base in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi.

UHS' local customers include The Memphis Regional Medical Center (The MED), which has been working with UHS via its Asset Management Partnership Program (AMPP) since 2003. A UHS project team is responsible for providing and managing The MED's medical equipment inventory, from logistics and tracking to cleaning, servicing and compliance documentation. Moveable medical equipment includes infusion pumps, blood pressure monitors, incubators, IV poles, neonatal equipment (warmers, lights), defibrillators and other assets.

"UHS is committed to helping healthcare facilities gain efficiencies in medical equipment utilization and management to improve overall patient care," said Gary Blackford, CEO and Chairman of Universal Hospital Services. "Opening new locations in Memphis and Tupelo will allow us to better service our growing customer base so that they can count on prompt service, 24/7."
