DOTmed Certified Kabiru Adams is a registered nurse by training who went to school in Nigeria and practiced nursing there from 1979 till 1991 when he emigrated to the U.S. He became licensed as an R.N. here in 1993.

With a clinical mind and entrepreneurial spirit, Adams started his company, Abbey International Enterprises in 2002 to provide new laboratory scientific equipment, clinical diagnostic supplies, orthopedic supports, and dental equipment as a distributor for L.W. Scientific in Atlanta.


"I have been in nursing over 30 years and I do medical supplies part-time and am now focusing on international sales in Africa--microscopes, centrifuges, and ultrasound. The market in Africa is excellent. The government of Nigeria has its own hospitals but the private sector is trying to be more sophisticated in medical equipment," Adams said.

"We have what our customers need at prices that they can afford," said Adams, who is president and CEO of the company. "Our goal is to establish a long-term relationship with our customers and support our products will a full guarantee. We are also dedicated to offering the best, state-of-the-art products available in the market."

His extensive U.S. and international education includes a B.A. in Health Administration & Policy Administration from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He also holds a diploma in international trade from the Wade Trade Institute in London, and a certificate in international marketing from Loyola University.

"As a nurse I used to work in the operating theater and am familiar with the products and everything I am selling."
