FiberTech Medical USA
On November 1, 2005, FiberTech Medical, USA re-established its endoscope service operations headed up by Frank Majerowicz, one of the company's original founding partners. Majerowicz started FiberTech in 1989 and it became the leading third-party endoscopic service company that set industry standards.

"The new FiberTech will remain true to its original principles by establishing integrity, trust, quality, and professionalism in the marketplace," Majerowicz said.

In addition to offering endoscopic repair services nationwide, FiberTech Medical is also the exclusive Northeast distributor for multiple GI products and accessories including Fujinon endoscopy. FiberTech is an authorized OEM service center for Fujinon.

Majerowicz has two partners in the firm, Richard Gallant and William Skelley Sr. Together, the industry veterans bring medical, business and finance know-how to the operation.

Bill Skelley and his son, Chris Skelley, used to run Medical Equipment Exchange. Chris is now VP of sales for FiberTech. Medical Equipment Exchange has in effect become the refurbished equipment reselling arm for FiberTech and its markets.

"We deal with hospitals, surgery centers, doctors' offices, and we also do a lot of business with other endoscopy dealers and vendors throughout the U.S and the world," Chris said of FiberTech's customer base. The segment enjoys significant attention these days as the population ages and patients become aware of the importance of colonoscopy. "We call it the Katie Couric effect. Ever since she came forward when her husband passed away from colon cancer, people realized the need for a colonoscopy."

Other widely prescribed medical procedures that use endoscopes include gastroscopy of the esophagus/stomach and bronchoscopy of the lungs.

FiberTech will operate two service centers, in Maryland and New Hampshire, and a Miami sales office focused on the Latin American market.

DOTmed continues to prove a valuable resource with the launch of the new company. "DOTmed gives us good exposure with lots of people using the site every day," Chris said. "It gets us some sales and I love the forums on DOTmed about honest and dishonest people--who to stay away from and who to do business with--I really appreciate those."
