the market trends
Houston, TX - Digisonics, provider of image management & reporting solutions, has announced that revenue grew 21% for FY '09 ended July 31, 2009.

Diana McSherry, President of Digisonics, said "We are delighted to announce both record revenue and substantial revenue growth for Digisonics during the last fiscal year. This is particularly significant given the financial turmoil in this period. During the first half of calendar 2009, sales to hospitals were lower than forecast, however this was offset by purchases from private practice and research groups. The hospital market is now showing signs of recovery and the forecast for Digisonics systems is currently quite strong."

The company also reported to DOTmed News that is has recently introduced expanded PACS reporting interfaces and functionality, a timely feature given the current healthcare reform climate. Digisonics' solutions are designed to increase efficiency and expanded connectivity through all phases of the clinical workflow.

Specifically, PACS API Link launches Digisonics applications directly from integrated 3rd party PACS solutions. The API allows users to review images in a separate PACS and simultaneously edit reports in Digisonics on a single workstation with direct patient synchronization occurring in the background, optimizing the clinician's time.

DICOM Report Store-to-PACS automatically converts finalized reports to DICOM files for storage and review in 3rd party PACS systems. The primary advantage of DICOM Store to PACS versus a traditional HL7 interface is that all formatting on finalized reports is maintained for ease of review and the DICOM standard is better suited for most PACS solutions.

New Contracts Keep Coming

In other news, Digisonics' DigiNet Pro, which provides sites with fully functional web-based reading capabilities, has been selected by Colorado Springs (CO) Cardiologists. The group will use Digisonics DigiNet Pro System for complete access to patient studies, image review, and highly-configurable cardiovascular reporting via the web.

Duke Clinical Research Institute, Durham, NC also expanded their network by implementing an additional DigiNet Pro system for fully-functional remote reading of cardiovascular studies anywhere at anytime.
