Medical Imaging Solutions, Inc. (MIS) is bringing an all-new product to market with the introduction of its trademarked AngioVision(TM) family of interventional X-ray imaging systems. Clients include hospitals and cardiologists' offices.

AngioVision represents a departure from the approach taken by larger manufacturers. "This is a state-of-the-art machine that competes with the big guns by matching the OEMs' performance at a reduced price," said Terry Ancar, MIS chief executive officer. MIS, which has operated from its Louisiana-based headquarters since 1987, enjoys a nationwide reputation for providing high-performance, high-value digital interventional imaging labs, service and support.

"The uniqueness of the AngioVision system is how it's formatted along with its ease of installation," he added. The image quality, mechanical integrity and overall reliability of the AngioVision systems are remarkable, regardless of the price. Its true open architecture design allows for future upgradeability.

Selected digital imaging features include digital automatic gain control, 1024 progressive CCD camera imaging, quantitative analysis package, variable acquisition rates, real-time display and digital processing, fluoro loop with replay, selection and display of reference images, and CD-R Burner/DICOM 3.0 output. AngioVision's receptor features a high-res QX image intensifier & CCD or Varian PacScan 2020 flat panel detector; the X-ray tube has a high capacity, metal center insert and high volume heat exchanger. Features and benefits of the C-arm, table, and generator also match the OEMs. (A product data sheet is available from MIS.)

In addition to the all-new AngioVision release, MIS continues to be known for its refurbished "Newbrid" systems. These fully digital Philips-based cath labs are more new than used. The newbrid allows interventionalists to assess and treat vascular deficiencies with remarkable detail. Newbrid's advanced features include a dual-processor digital imaging system that provides instantaneous in-lab review of images from previous cases, and quick quantitative analysis of vessels and ventricles without disrupting the current procedure. The MIS Newbrid system integrates the proven Poly Diagnost C gantry/table system with a state-of-the-art imaging chain, digital imaging system and X-ray generator technology.
