Duo confident new company will grow, succeed

Starting their own company was something Larry Knight and Mark Depew always knew they would do. And after decades of working in the health care industry, they teamed up and started operations with Altima Diagnostic Imaging Solutions last month.

"We always intended at some point to start a business like this," says Depew, a managing partner. "We are both cut from the same cloth with regard to the way we believe equipment maintenance and serving customers [should be]."

The company, based in Plano, Texas, offers consulting, turnkey project execution and a wide variety of equipment service agreements for MRI and CT equipment. The company is an expert in Oxford magnets, says Knight, partner and director of operations.

The four-person staff brings a combined 45 years of experience to the budding company, which expects to hire more employees within the next six months, says Depew.

Depew carries an impressive track record, having worked for Picker, Siemens and Philips in roles from technical support engineer to director of North American service operations and in strategic management roles with Texas Instruments.

And Knight brings 27 years of experience to the table.

The growing company is already experiencing success, with about six consistent clients and 15 others that work with Altima. Depew points out that creating the company in a difficult economy presents advantages for a company to fully establish its reputation and inspire customer confidence.

"[We're] a new face providing value for customers, cutting costs and maintaining expert quality every day," he says.

With Knight's well-established reputation in the business and the experience the company brings to its clients, the duo look forward to growth, concentrating on being high-value proposition partners.

"We facilitate and collaborate, providing efficient and expert services but also managing cooperative relationships that protect our customers' financial and operational interests," says Depew.

"We're already experiencing phenomenal growth," says Knight.
