Clinical equipment management company TriMedx said Tuesday it tapped ex-Philips executive Tom Vorpahl to be its new chief operating officer.
The Indianapolis-based subsidiary of the Ascension Health hospital chain said Vorpahl comes with 30 years of industry experience, having spent the last eight years with Philips North America, most recently as vice president of sales and business development.
According to Vorpahl's LinkedIn page, in that job he helped implement the service program for DirectLife, Philips' fitness tool, in North America.

Vorpahl originally started off doing clinical work, according to TriMedx. He has also held executive positions with GE and Siemens Healthcare.
"Tom has extensive experience in serving - not selling," TriMedx's president and CEO Greg Ranger said in prepared remarks. "He has a passion for showing clients the true value of partnership that transcends the transaction."
