According to Woods, "With the new SOURCECORP service, the hospital sends a list of the specific prior exams needed several days in advance through a special TAP Web portal. Based on that, TAP staff pull and digitize the files using a Hologic HD or VIDAR CAD PRO Advantage dedicated mammography scanner, depending on the customer specification. Following this, the digital studies are transferred directly to the hospital's electronic PACS archive and are ready for use. As hard copy exams age beyond statutory retention times, they are automatically destroyed and storage fees are eliminated.
