HARVEY, Ill. and MALVERN, Pa., May 24, 2006 - Siemens Medical Solutions and Ingalls Health System of Harvey, Ill., announce they have signed a strategic agreement through which Siemens will provide Ingalls Health System with a long-term information technology (IT) managed services solution. The solution encompasses the outsourcing of Ingalls' IT operations, the implementation of Soarian©, Siemens' next generation workflow-driven health information solution (HIS), and the establishment of a Workflow Innovation Center at Ingalls to facilitate the streamlining of clinical operations. The solution was developed in consultation with Siemens' Global Services organization, a dedicated professional and managed services business unit.

By outsourcing its IT operations to Siemens, Ingalls will benefit from Siemens' expertise in complex healthcare and IT infrastructures. Siemens will work with Ingalls to create operational and financial efficiencies, maximize its investment in IT resources, and achieve its strategic business objectives. Information technology employees at Ingalls will continue to serve the health system on-site, but will be employed by Siemens. As a result, Ingalls and Siemens employees will work collaboratively to deliver advanced IT solutions designed to meet the organization's specific needs. In addition, a strategic IT governance overseen by Ingalls and Siemens executives has been established to ensure IT strategy remains aligned with Ingalls' business objectives. Members of the governance committees will establish priorities, review performance and provide overall direction of the relationship.
