Hi. We are back from three-day weekend - Memorial weekend, a weekend to remember all the men and women who fought to defend America in past wars. As it is also said, Memorial Day marks the beginning of the summer season in the United States, the weather was gorgeous!

One of my best friends was visiting me taking advantage of this weekend, and we went to many places in NYC. We attended Sunday morning services to experience the Harlem gospel tradition at Abyssinian Baptist Church, the most famous of Harlem's more than 400 houses of worship. Actually, we are not religious people, however, we were impressed being there and enjoyed gospel music!

Also, we went to St. Patrick's Cathedral, the largest decorated gothic-style Catholic Cathedral in the United States. We really loved the architecture and decoration - many burning candles and the open doors that are so inviting to anyone, and moreover, it was comfortable atmosphere - peaceful, quiet and clean. We didn't feel we were in Manhattan...

I think that sometimes it is good to be in different world and calm in normal life. If you feel stress or something, I recommend visiting a cozy place like Cathedral. Meditation focuses your attention on feeling calm and having a clear awareness about your life.
