Every year for the past 30-odd years, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists has commemorated the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895, by promoting National Radiologic Technology Week.
ASRT encourages radiology departments during this year's celebration, which runs Nov. 4-10, to recognize the work of RTs and promote the profession by contacting the local newspaper, drafting and disseminating press releases and writing articles for trade magazines.
Nearly eight years ago, a technical school in Missouri even got the mayor to sign a proclamation supporting NRTW, ASRT said.
