MILabs, B.V. the Netherlands-based innovator and manufacturer of pre-clinical SPECT/PET/CT imaging devices used in biomedical research, today announces new Modular SPECT/PET/CT/MRI solutions offered through a special collaborative partnership with MRI manufacturer RS2D of France which will be unveiled at the upcoming SNMMI Conference in Vancouver.

In response to increasing interest from the research community in PET/MRI and SPECT/MRI imaging solutions required to expand research applications with high soft tissue differentiation and some specific contrast agent benefits of MRI as an imaging modality, MILabs is pleased to offer compact flexible PET/SPECT/CT/MRI solutions specifically created to offer users the benefits of high-field-strength MRI with PET, SPECT or parallel PET/SPECT scanning in an adjustable room layout. In contrast to alternative, integrated modality designs which limit system utilization and throughput, the MILabs modular-MRI solutions allow for simultaneous PET/SPECT with MRI imaging in parallel which improves lab productivity and provides multi-tasking benefits. The MILabs modular approach offers the benefits of clinical field strengths, high SNR scanning with a choice of either 1.5T or 3.0T MRI systems to best meet the needs of the lab.
The MRI systems offered in the MILabs modular solution are highly stable, offer high homogeneity with a restricted fringe field supporting close proximity to the MILabs U-PET, U-SPECT, or VECTorTM PET/SPECT system. The systems employ new low maintenance magnet technologies and do not require liquid helium. The MRI systems will also be compatible with the new MILabs mini series. Each system includes specially designed, dedicated animal cells for quick and easy transfer between modalities for high performance hybrid PET/MR, SPECT/PET/MR or SPECT/MR imaging.

Now for the first time, with the addition of a new modular MRI imaging solution, MILabs can offer researchers an unmatched choice of over 15 high-performance, high resolution multi-modal preclinical imaging solutions designed to meet virtually any imaging need in a limited lab space. These system configurations range from single modality SPECT or PET systems to dual-modality, tri-modality or even the quadruple modality VECTor+/CT-MRI product.
