DOTmed: Tell us about this purchase. Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, a subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation, and its southeast regional dealer CMS Imaging, have completed installation of nine radiography and two radiography/fluoroscopy imaging systems at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. The equipment acquisition is part of an extensive remodeling and expansion of Holy Cross’ diagnostic imaging department to meet the needs of a steadily expanding population in Southeast Florida.
DOTmed: Any final thoughts? The sale of eleven diagnostic imaging systems by CMS Imaging was made in late 2012, in a staged installation. Five x-ray imaging suites were equipped with Radspeed systems and tables that support patients weighing up to 440 pounds. One system has Shimadzu’s Speed Stitch software that enable radiologic technologists to instantly obtain extra-large images of the length of a body, such as those required of patients with scoliosis.
