Jameson Hospital, in New Castle, Pa., opened a brand new emergency department (ED) to bring advanced healthcare to its patient population. As part of the new facility, Jameson installed the first RADREXTM-i Wireless digital radiographic (DR) X-ray system and an AquilionTM Premium CT system from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. Jameson Hospital utilizes these systems for a variety of exams to improve patient care, safety and workflow in a high-volume ED setting.

DOTmed: Why was the winner vendor chosen?
“Toshiba has partnered with Jameson to provide a multi-modality solution that improves patient care,” said Nancy Gillen, vice president, Marketing, Toshiba. “With technology that images patients faster and more accurately, we help our customers successfully navigate the changing healthcare landscape.”

Jameson Health System is a longtime Toshiba partner and also utilizes an Aquilion 64 CT, an Aquilion 16 CT and a KalareTM X-ray system.

DOTmed: Any final thoughts?
Aquilion Premium is an ideal system for the ED, with 160 detector rows (320 slices) that can image up to 8 cm of anatomy in a single and fast gantry rotation (as fast as 0.35 seconds). The system’s AIDR 3D technology significantly lowers dose for safer procedures.
