DOTmed: What differentiates you from your competitors?
We are a true "value-added" reseller. We add 25+ years of knowledge of how to get the job done better, faster and for less money. By handling every step of the process, from deinstallation to reinstallation — and every step in-between, we ultimately save the client money and produce a better result. Lots of companies say they refurbish the equipment they sell, but how many actually do it themselves or even understand what is involved in being a caretaker of someone else's equipment and ultimately their success? We take this responsibility very seriously.

DOTmed: Give us a snapshot of your business.
We sell and service new equipment from such companies as Carestream, Americomp/Summit, Oakworks and Comed/GEMSS. We buy, sell, repair, and refurbish diagnostic imaging equipment from every modality. We occupy several niches in the market so completely that you would be hard-pressed to find a better partner. These niches are refurbished bone densitometry, digital mammography, C-arms extremity MRI, and new CR/DR, X-ray and C-arms. We also do PET/CT, CT, MRI on a turnkey basis.

DOTmed: What makes you most proud of your company?
We've been in business 25 years with the same name and same owners. Our list of end-user client references in the U.S. is over 15-pages long and includes some of the most respected health care providers in the country. We can also provide a big list of customer references in Europe, South America and Asia. We have achieved a DOTmed 100 rating every year since its inception, and we are consistently in the top five companies followed on DOTmed. There are lots of companies bigger than us in the business, but we are proud to stay relatively small and let our clients be our best advertising.

DOTmed: What new or recent technology is 'hot' in your field?
Tomosynthesis, i.e. 3-D mammography, is the number one hot modality in our world. Gaining competency in this advanced digital modality has been one of our prime focuses over the last two years. C-Arms are still hot and the new Korean Comed/GEMSS C-Arms have been great for us. CR is slowing down but DR is taking up the slack.

DOTmed: What are the biggest challenges and opportunities that you face?
Obamacare and decreased reimbursements are a challenge for everyone right now. It's all about the uncertainty in how doctors, hospitals and image centers are going to get paid once they buy our equipment. So, they just aren't buying at the level we are used to.
