The objective of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program is to provide fellows with the skills required for them to reach individual educational goals in a setting that is both supportive and challenging. Formal training is provided in the diagnosis and management of luminal gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Fellows will be instilled with cognitive and technical skills as well as an academic perspective that emphasizes renewal of knowledge in order to maintain the highest standards of practice.

* 20 senior faculty physicians who staff the hospital at the Detroit campus and the suburban outpatient centers
* First year spent on the inpatient consultation and liver transplantation services
* Second and third year fellows have a continuity practice experience in our outpatient clinic
* Fellows perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, manometry studies, liver biopsy and esophageal dilation under staff supervision
* Endoscopic procedures are performed by all fellows, with advanced endoscopic procedures taught during the second and third years of training by trained interventional staff
* State-of-the-art video endoscopy equipment in main endoscopy suite at the Detroit campus
* Teaching program includes didactic sessions, and weekly conferences to review physiology, pathology, current literature and patient management problems
* Fellows are expected to complete a research project; supervision in clinical epidemiology, statistics and research design can be arranged
Radiation Oncology Residency Program
The Division of Radiation Oncology offers two positions yearly for a four-year residency program supported by Henry Ford Health System, one of the largest and most respected integrated health care delivery systems in the country. Residents utilize the latest technology and train from a highly skilled clinical staff at Henry Ford Hospital, a nationally renowned specialty care, teaching and research institution that is the flagship of Henry Ford Health System.
The Henry Ford Radiation Oncology Residency Program is especially unique, as residents are able to train at the Josephine Ford Cancer Center (JFCC) - a multidisciplinary program committed to prevention, early detection, treatment and research for cancer care. Located at Henry Ford hospital, the JFCC is one of the largest cancer centers in Michigan and is consistently ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top cancer centers in the nation.
