Hi, I went to see a movie last weekend with my friend. I like to watch movies in a theater better than at home because I just love the inside atmosphere- a dark room, a huge screen, a comfortable chair, and loud sounds so cozy! Such a space leads me into an unrealistic world anytime.
Every time I go to a theater I see the difference between the people in the U.S. and in Japan. The people here show their feelings clearly during a movie like laughing so loudly when the scenes are funny without caring others. The people in Japan laugh when its funny (of course), but we tend to try giggling and watching quietly. It is hard to say if its because of our politeness or ashamedness, but if you go to a theater in Japan, you might feel a little awkward.
Anyway, there are many theaters in NYC, and we can see various kinds of movies all over including international ones. I am sure movies are one of good entertainments for all ages and nations.

By the way, have you ever heard movies effect for you mental health? I found the article about Movie Therapy on the other day, and it said, Movie Therapy is a mind therapy that involves the client viewing certain films that under the supervision of a therapist in order to help treat emotional and mental conditions. Yes, I think movies can and will change the way we think and feel.
We might not realize that we have been treated by movies, but it seems we have. Or a bucket of popcorn and a large cup of soda make us feel better or what!
