Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center is a 288-bed acute care hospital located in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. More than 460 physicians and 2,600 employees work at MCRMC making it one of Macomb County's top employers.

MCRMC provides a full range of services including cancer and cardiovascular care. The hospital operates one of the busiest Emergency Centers in the area and has recently opened a new Surgery Center.

Urology Surgery

Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center offers residency training in Urological Surgery as a member of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM) consortium. Other consortium members include several hospital within the Statewide Campus System (SCS). The intensive curriculum covers cognitive, psychomotor and affective objectives in the field of urology during OGME years 3 through 6. Prerequisites for the program include completion of an AOA-approved internship and of OGME-2 in General Surgery.

Program features include:

* Strong emphasis on scientific research under the guidance of clinical faculty
* Presentation of research at the Michigan Urologic Society biannual meetings
* Affiliation with William Beaumont Hospital for pediatric urology and stone management
* Participation in medical education through teaching of externs and interns in clinical settings and through lectures

Educational programs include:

* Basic science course
* Weekly resident conferences on Wednesday and Thursday mornings
* Monthly journal club
* MSU-COM SCS Educational Days

Duration of program: 4 years
AOA approved positions: 18 in consortium (1 funded position at MCRMC)
Call requirements: shared coverage with residents from area hospitals (please contact us for more information)

Otolaryngology-Facial Plastic Surgery

The Otolaryngology-Facial Plastic Surgery Residency at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Centeris a four-year program encompassing surgical and office-based practice in ENT and orofacial plastic surgery. Core rotations provided at MCRMC are supplemented by training at affiliated sites, including the University of Detroit and the Michigan Ear Institute.

Features of the residency program include:

* Temporal bone lab on-site
* Basic science course in Des Moines, Iowa, for first year residents
* Home-study course sponsored by American Academy of Otorhinolaryngology
* Educational Days through MSUCOM/SCS
* Participation in Grand Rounds at area academic centers, including Wayne State University
