Halloween Parade
a pumpkin guy
Hi, since last weekend, I had many interesting things around me. On last Saturday, I went to the place called DUMBO. You might imagine Dumbo, a flying elephant in Disneyland, but it is NOT! DUMBO area is located in Brooklyn beneath the Manhattan Bridge:
Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.
I have heard that old lofts in the area were renovated and converted to residential use delis, cafes, galleries etc. There are some neat galleries on the streets, and they made me so excited. Actually I am not an artistic person, however, it is always fun to see something neat, cool and unique.
The one of galleries I went was awesome. They had enough space to exhibit many photos taken in Brooklyn. I liked the way to hang them up, especially, ones on the pillars looked like a third dimension. I think visiting in galleries is easier to get into and be able to feel more at hand than in museums.

And I also enjoyed one of fantastic American events on last Tuesday. Do you know which one was? Yes! October 31 was Halloween. There was a huge parade in NYC -
the 33rd Annual New York's Village Halloween Parade . It started in 1973 in local area just from house to house, but after the second year of this local promenade, it became larger scale and was promoted as a huge event in the streets program.
It was very hard to see the parade itself because of too many people. Needless to say, I was among a dense crowd most of the time, and each time I moved, I needed to shoulder my way through the crowd.
There were funny people wearing strange costumes all over the street Afro guys, bleeding guys, a parrot guy and more! (They were much cooler than my rabbit glasses with nose and ears) My favorite was the guy looked like exact Paris Hilton! He did well and was so cute.
I really had a good time to be in such a strange atmosphere even if I never got spooky feelings.
