Hi, I am having an exciting week because one of my good friends from Japan came to see me since last weekend. As there are so many things to show her here in NYC, it is very difficult to decide the order of priority.

I wanted her to try New York Bagel because it is hard to find such a chewy one in Japan. I took her one of popular shops in NYC called Essa Bagel, which is my favorite. As she is a big fan of bread, she was happy to taste a huge bagel sandwich.

Also I took her to Chelsea Market – restaurants, bakeries, chocolate shops, an Italian market and ice cream shops are gathered. When we stopped by a shop, our eyes turned bright because of cute little houses made by sweets – candies, chocolates, marshmallows, biscuits and cream. The sweets houses are displayed at the place only for Christmas season. It was my dream to have such a confectionery house when I was a little so that I was really pleased to look at them. However, I only wished that they would be much bigger, and then I could step in. (Hopefully the dream would come true someday!)

We went to ice-skate to Bryant Park, which is on 42nd Street. The place is very cool. There are many holiday gift booths, a big Christmas tree and a restaurant decorated with lots of Christmas Light around the rink. The best thing is that we are able to see the Empire State Building as we skate. Even though we were not very good at it, we really enjoyed being there.

And the main thing we did was that watching Broadway Musical. We picked “MAMMA MIA!” It was absolutely amazing. We just loved everything – dance, songs, story and casts. Since we knew the songs (ABBA’s) well in the musical, we could not help humming a tune to ourselves during the show. At the end, all casts sang and danced like a concert, which was so impressive. Needless to say, the audience acclaimed them.

As you see, I had tons of fun with my friend in this week. It was her first time to visit in NY, and she really hopes to come back here again. She believes NYC is very attractive place and never lets her think to leave. I also hope all of my friends in Japan could visit here and share a lot of things together.
