For most of history, it was almost inevitable that you would get ripped-off replacing a part of medical equipment. And if there is anybody who should know that, it is
Dr. Gautam Sehgal. Through his capacities as the Hologic distributor for India and president of Ads Diagnostics, Sehgal has bought, sold and replaced parts for equipment for clients in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. He was personally responsible for the installations of the first private CT and MRI machines in India.
In the past, Seghal needed to contact multiple vendors when he needed a price for repair and was forced to wait a long time for a quote. And the price that he received was inflated because manufacturers knew how hard it was to price-compare.
Then along came the DOTmed Parts Hunter. The need to contact multiple vendors for the lowest price was suddenly eradicated. When you submit a parts Request, multiple Sellers are contacted and they respond with offers. Within minutes. And you can compare them side by side. The work is done for you.

And the cost of parts can drop substantially.
Dr. Sehgal recounts a time when the power supply of a .5 Tesla MRI machine in his 40-bed hospital, the Seghal Neurological Institute, in Kailash Colony of New Delhi, India failed. The OEM quoted Sehgal a price of $20,000 to fix the machine. Then Sehgal filled out a Parts Hunter request form for the part that he needed. A Seller offered Sehgal the part he needed for $4,000! Naturally, the OEM lowered their asking price after Sehgal showed them the Seller's offer that he received through the DOTmed Parts Hunter. In a similar example, Seghal needed a new computer for one of his CT scanners. The manufacturer wanted $48,000 to replace the machine. Dr. Sehgal was able to find the same product through the Parts Hunter for $5,000.
"The Parts Hunter leveled the playing field. Now I know that I will be able to pay the true market value for a part," sums up Gautam Sehgal.
