FBI Investigating Fraud in Used Medical Equipment Industry

by Philip F. Jacobus, CEO | February 28, 2005
The FBI is particularly interested in those cases where hospitals, clinics and doctor's offices have paid for equipment and not received anything, or paid for equipment and received it in an inoperable condition, resulting in the loss of a deposit in excess of $10,000.

Many of us in the industry would agree that while the vast majority of dealers are honest, that a few bad apples have given those of us who remarket used medical equipment a bad name.

If you know of an end user who has been hurt in this way by one or more companies operating in Ohio, we encourage you to contact Special Agent B. Chiarito at the phone number, fax number or address below.
