Hi, did you hear that the temperatures last weekend reached record highs up to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 Celsius) in New York? It was an all-time record high for that day. I expected winter in NY was a lot colder so I have been ready for it, however, the weather overturned my thought. I wonder if this warm weather was due to global warming...could be it, right?
Anyway, I enjoyed the warm weather in Central Park on last Saturday. As I imagined, many people hang around there – playing Frisbee, running, taking a dog for a walk, picnicking and playing instruments – just like summer season. I saw a lot of people who were roller blading. It seemed they were all individuals but gathered at same spot and enjoyed performing by themselves. I liked the idea that they were having fun together even though they were strangers.
Later on, I found some boys flying a kite. That reminded me of Japanese New Year's Day because kite flying is one of the traditional things to do on New Year's Day. When I was a little, I made my own kite with my father and flew it at a park. The good memory rushed into my mind at the time.

Just before I left the park, I happened to see two jazz musicians. Although it was getting dark, I stopped by and listened to them play. That was a very beautiful moment – two men were playing jazz under an outdoor lamp, and people were listing intently.
Overall, I had a good time since it was a pleasant day. Winter appears to be coming back to NY in this week. Now I better think some fun things to do inside to be away from the cold. Any suggestions?
