ASTRO as an education manager
along with Shana Treger
The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), welcomes two new education managers and one new meetings manager to its growing staff. These additional staff will help meet the expanding educational demands of ASTRO's 8,600 physician, physicist, radiation therapist, dosimetrist, nurse and affiliated members.
Shana Treger joins ASTRO as an Education Manager. Treger joins ASTRO from the American National Standards Institute where she was a Project Manager for Accreditation Services. Treger also previously worked for the National Retail Federation Foundation as the Certification Manager where she managed and developed three national certification programs. In her duties at ASTRO, Treger will be assisting with Web-based learning and the Quality Assurance and Image Guided Radiation Therapy meetings. Treger completed her undergraduate degree at American University in Washington and holds a Master's degree in Organizational Development/Human Resource Development from the George Washington University, also located in Washington.
Jessica Sayers also joins ASTRO as an Education Manager, managing the Spring Refresher Course, the Nurse's Program and the Educational Sessions at ASTRO's Annual Meeting, which draws nearly 12,000 attendees. Sayers previously worked at the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health, where she managed their continuing education program and professional relations. Sayers received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., and is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health through UNC's School of Public Health.

Christina Cleveland joins the Meetings department as the new Meetings Manager. Ms. Cleveland spent several years working in meetings at the Biotechnology Industry Organization. Most recently, Cleveland was a Meetings Coordinator for the American Geophysical Union where she helped plan conferences and conventions. In her duties for ASTRO, Cleveland will be in charge of planning the Spring Refresher Meeting and the registration and convention center logistics for the 49 Annual Meeting, to be held in Los Angeles October 28-November 1. Cleveland graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Political Science.
