Hi, you know, clocks all over the United States moved forward at 2 a.m. on last Sunday with the new Daylight Savings Time policy, which is about one month earlier than past years. I was not in NYC at the time. Where was I then? Well, I was in Washington D.C. over the weekend with the new DOTmed intern, Naoko.
We took a bus early in the morning and arrived there around noon. (It was about a 4-hour-drive to get there.) My first impression of D.C. was that it was "well-organized." Most buildings and streets looked neat enough.
Since we were so curious to see the White House, we visited there first. To be honest, it was smaller than what I expected. I was impressed with the Capitol building more than White House. Especially, I liked the architecture and atmosphere around the area a lot. (As you see, the picture of Naoko and me above shows what I am talking about. It is just phenomenal one!)

The Washington Monument, which is a white-colored obelisk at the west end of the National Mall, towers into the sky and also inspired me a lot. We went to the top and enjoyed the view from there.
At the end of the trip, we were exhausted because we mostly walked on and on to get each point. However, we never got bored because of the amazing structures such as museums and historical houses.
Overall, we had a good time, however, we only regret that we just missed the Cherry Blossom Festival... If you are interested in visiting D.C., plan to go from March 31 to April 15!
