In 2016, ACT Health released a public tender for a system to replace its end-oflife radiology information system/picture archiving and communication system (RIS/PACS). The tender requirements included an intuitive workflow, internal and external messaging capability, access for external stakeholders, ability to develop and scale into the future, seamless integration, migration of existing imaging data, and training and support. After a lengthy evaluation process, Agfa HealthCare was nominated as the preferred supplier early in 2017, with the final agreement for the Enterprise Imaging solution signed on July 10, 2017.

A single, consolidated software platform
The Enterprise Imaging platform creates a comprehensive imaging ecosystem that enables the enterprise’s images to be available to all involved caregivers across the care continuum. The components can be adopted step-by-step, at the hospital’s own pace. The Agfa HealthCare/ACT Health contract comprises:

 Enterprise Imaging for Radiology: brings together a departmental PACS, reporting and voice recognition, advanced image processing and clinical tools, in a single, converged platform.

 The web-based XERO universal image viewer: provides secure access to DICOM and non-DICOM imaging data from different departments and multiple sources, in one view, to anyone inside and outside of the hospital who needs it.

 Enterprise Imaging Business Intelligence: provides standard and customizable reports, for easy retrieval of all the information in the unified Enterprise Imaging platform and more informed decision-making.

 Enterprise Imaging Scheduling: manages scheduling of the most complex procedures, appointments and electronic orders, in one quick and easy-to-use application.

 Integrated Care suite: supports patient healthcare management and access to health information beyond the hospital walls, for both patients and care providers. This modular, web-based portal solution offers an easy-to-integrate and -use set of applications, with clear and userfriendly interfaces.
