Barry D. Pressman, M.D.
has been elected President
of the ACR

The American College of Radiology (ACR) Council elected Barry D. Pressman, M.D., FACR, of Los Angeles, president of the ACR during the ACR's 84th Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC) in Washington, D.C. last week.
Pressman is a member of the ACR Board of Chancellors, chair of the ACR Web Site Advisory Committee, and former chair of the ACR Communications Commission. He is also chair of the S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Department and Center and chief of the center's section of neuroradiology and head and neck radiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Pressman is a past president of the California Radiological Society and the Western Neuroradiological Society.
"Dr. Pressman has served with distinction as chair of the ACR Communications Commission and on the ACR Board of Chancellors for many years. He is a leader in the field of radiology and in medicine as a whole. The ACR as an organization looks forward to his continued outstanding leadership as president," said ACR Executive Director Harvey L. Neiman, MD.

Other New ACR Officers Elected:
ACR Vice President - Jeffrey C. Weinreb, M.D., FACR, New Haven, Conn., has been elected vice.president of the ACR. Weinreb is chief of MRI at Yale New Haven Hospital and a professor of radiology at Yale University School of Medicine. He is a member of the ACR Commission on Quality and Safety and a fellow of the ACR.
ACR Speaker - The ACR Council elected David C. Kushner, M.D., FACR, of Virginia Beach, Va., speaker. Kushner is a member of the ACR Board of Chancellors and a fellow of the ACR. He is medical director of radiology at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and professor of radiology and pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical Center, both in Norfolk, Va. Kushner is a former president of the Massachusetts Radiological Society.
ACR Vice Speaker - The ACR Council elected Alan D. Kaye, M.D., FACR, of Bridgeport, Conn., vice speaker. Kaye is a fellow of the ACR and a member of the ACR Council Steering Committee. He is also a member of the ACR Government Relations Commission and former chair of the ACR State Government Relations Committee. He is chair of the department of radiology at Bridgeport Hospital and assistant clinical professor of radiology at Yale New Haven Hospital.
