Community Health Systems completes divestiture of Clarksdale, Mississippi hospital

FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CYH) announced today that subsidiaries of the Company have completed the sale of 181-bed Merit Health Northwest Mississippi in Clarksdale and its associated assets to subsidiaries of Curae Health, Inc. The effective date of the transaction is November 1, 2017. With the divestiture completed, Community Health Systems affiliates continue to operate nine hospitals in Mississippi.

Merit Health Northwest Mississippi is one of the 30 planned hospital divestitures discussed on the Company’s second quarter 2017 earnings call.
