Neusoft Medical Systems USA announced on Thursday that the FDA has cleared its new NeuViz Prime 128-slice CT scanner.
"In this new landscape, CT system purchasing decisions are critical to financial success," Christopher A. McHan, president of Neusoft, told HCB News. "Providers need a CT that is competitive, reliable and affordable."
Along with the other CT systems in the NeuViz product line, the Prime is configured based on the needs of the providers. That helps them avoid costly upgrades.

According to McHan, the NeuViz Prime is one of the fastest CT systems on the market due to its 0.259 second rotation speed. The resulting motion suppression improves imaging in trauma, pediatrics and cardiac cases.
The system's new X-ray tube features a liquid bearing design, which removes heat faster than it's introduced. The tube allows for 60 kV imaging at the maximum tube current of 833 mA — making it ideal for pediatric applications.
The NeuViz Prime also comes with field-upgradable spectral imaging, unlike the other CT systems in its product line.
