Reston, VA — The Radiology Leadership Institute® (RLI) is accepting nominations for its 2018 Leadership Luminary Award. This honorary designation is given to outstanding radiology professionals to celebrate lifetime achievements in leadership and innovation. Nomination forms must be submitted online by March 2, 2018.
"The RLI is proud to recognize outstanding leaders who have advanced the science or practice of diagnostic radiology or radiation oncology. This honor recognizes distinguished individuals who have shown extraordinary leadership in our field," said Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, RLI chief medical officer and chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Leadership and Practice Development. "I strongly encourage our members to submit nominations for professionals who meet the requirements for this prestigious award," he added.
All professionals (physicians and non-physicians) in the field of radiology are eligible. Candidates must demonstrate an unusually high level of leadership and have exhibited the following qualities: visionary leadership, motivation/inspirational leadership, integrity, responsibility, generativity and creativity — as well as contributing to the radiology community through professional and leadership achievements.

The RLI, the ACR professional development and leadership program, will recognize award recipients at the 2018 RLI Leadership Summit Sept. 7–9, 2018, at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. Previous distinguished honorees of the program, which began in 2012, include E. Stephen Amis Jr., MD, FACR; Glendon G. Cox, MD; Leonard Berlin, MD, FACR; Bruce J. Hillman, MD, FACR; Sarah S. Donaldson, MD, FACR; Harvey L. Neiman, MD, FACR; Jonathan S. Lewin, MD, FACR; and James H. Thrall, MD, FACR.
Leadership Luminary nomination submissions must include a nomination letter that outlines and summarizes how a candidate meets the award criteria. The nominee's curriculum vitae must be included, providing adequate information concerning his/her leadership accomplishments. One additional letter of recommendation may also be included.
The RLI board is the governing body that makes decisions concerning the selection of the recipients of the Leadership Luminary awards.
