----MAGNETOM ® ESSENZ. This 1.5 Tesla (T) system opens up access to a level of diagnostic care previously unavailable in many communities. Pricing can be as much as $500,000 less than other 1.5 T systems.
-----MAGNETOM Verio. This 3T system combines high field strength, a 70-cm open bore and Total imaging matrix (Tim (TV)) technology. The Verio represents a new class of MRI technology increasing advanced diagnostic capabilities.
----SOMATOM Definition ™ Siemens adds Adaptive Scanning (AS) within computed tomography, able to adapt on the fly to a patient's clinical situation. It is available in 40-slice, 64-slice and 128-slice configurations.
----ACUSON P10 ™. The world's smallest and first pocket ultrasound system. Just a bit larger than a common PDA, it weights only 1.6 pounds and easily fits into lab coat pocket.
----ACUSON S2000 ™ ULTRASOUND SYSTEM. The S2000 is a platform for the next generation applications in radiology, general vascular imaging and screening, obstetrics and gynecology. The system also is capable of using Siemens' automtated scanning solutions, such as automated breast scanning.
----MAMMOMAT ® Novation S. A cost-effective solution for facilities making the transition to digital breast imaging. It optimizes workflow, utilizes the latest full-field amorphous Selenium (aSe) detectors and features Tungsten/Rhodium (W/Rh) X-ray technology, which reduces dose.
----SYMBIA E ® SYSTEMS. The Symbia E single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and SPECT-CT imaging systems provide users with a high-quality imager that can lead to improved clinical confidence, reliability and versatility, while allowing for upgrades as a facility's workload grows.
-----SYNGO ® SOLUTIONS. Siemens is showcasing syngo portals, providing access points to information and contest-sensitive tools for radiologists, referring physicians and hospital executives. Through the portals, users gain access to the applications needed for specific tasks such a syngo TrueD for computer-aided diagnosis (CAD).
Notes Erich Reinhardt, PH.D., member of the Siemens AG Managing Board: "At this year's RSNA, we are proving once again that Siemens is the innovation trendsetter, as we bring unique products to market that deliver answers to our customers' questions on how to diagnose disease earlier and more accurately, improve workflow and reduce cost."
With the acquisition of Dade Behring, Siemens complements the company's existing portfolio in the field of in vitro diagnostics, now covering the entire range from near patient testing, lab automation, clinical chemistry, immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostics.
