Doctors Depot, Inc., Jupiter, FL specializes in refurbished anesthesia machines and patient monitors. Customers include surgery centers and plastic surgeons as well as "hospitals that don't quite have as high a budget as the others that want to buy new equipment," according to President Aaron Frye.

Business is great, in part because of the company's focus on its niche.

"We are so specialized we don't have a huge inventory or overhead, so we cut prices. We are one of the cheapest out there but we don't cut any corners on our equipment," Frye said. "We are not into beds, stretchers and MRI units. We are strictly anesthesia and patient monitors. Our specialization and knowledge helps."

Employees are technicians trained on equipment from big OEMs including DataScope, Datex-Ohmeda, and North American Drager.

Doctors Depot, owned by Aaron Frye, is a complement to Eastern Anesthesia Service, Inc., owned by Aaron's father, Bill Frye. All told, they have been in business over 40 years. "Our goal is to provide the very best quality refurbished equipment at the best price. Not only do we sell quality refurbished equipment, we also provide facilities with service contract agreements," Aaron Frye said.

Doctors Depot typically buys its equipment from other wholesalers or sometimes from the facilities or companies contracted by the hospital to liquidate their equipment.

On the sales end, DOTmed has been a great partner. "DOTmed has been very helpful to our business in wholesaling to other companies and dealers as well as end users," he said.
