People create change
Creating a workplace where the imperatives of diversity, equity, and inclusion are accepted and lived is not an easy task. Yet it is important to remember that people create culture, and together we possess the ability to change it. Deep and lasting transformation such as this will likely take generations to accomplish. It’s daunting to consider, but we can’t afford to stay mired at this crossroad any longer. Acting with intent to make these necessary changes for our common good is my mission and I am undaunted. There’s an old proverb that says “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We have a long, long way to go. We can only do this together. May it be so.
