CEDAR PARK, TEXAS – September 29, 2022 – ETS-Lindgren, the global leader in RF Shielding Systems for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), has partnered with IMRIS, Deerfield Imaging, the global leader in intraoperative imaging, on a state-of-the-art MRI facility at Boston Children's Hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts. The newly opened Hale Family building will provide diagnostic and treatment capabilities using IMRIS' unique on-demand intraoperative MRI (iMRI) during surgery. IMRIS provides the only iMRI System in the world where the magnet is brought directly to the patient, minimizing impact to the surgical environment and increasing patient safety. With iMRI, patient images can be acquired during a surgical procedure to enable quick and accurate information for immediate treatment while the patient is still in the surgical theatre.

"In order for the magnet to perform as intended during surgery, it must be housed in an RF Shielded Enclosure to protect against electromagnetic interference that would adversely impact the quality of the images," said Tara Kellogg, ETS-Lindgren's Director of Business Development, Healthcare & Industry/Government. This shielding is quite complicated since the IMRIS magnet travels between the diagnostic and operating rooms. Each room requires RF Shielding and a high-performance door between them that maintains the shielding of the individual rooms. The RF Shielded Door must also operate seamlessly and reliably to enable safe, secure transport of the magnet and maintain infection-control protocols. Ms. Kellogg emphasized, "At ETS-Lindgren, we value our shared commitment with IMRIS to providing high-quality healthcare products while advancing medical imaging technologies."

IMRIS CEO Marc Buntaine states, "IMRIS consistently invests in the development of advanced technologies supporting clinical applications and the needs of our customers. We value our relationship with ETS-Lindgren as their RF Shielding System perfectly complements our iMRI System."
