United Imaging Healthcare has used ECR as the launch pad for the world’s first whole-body, ultrahigh-field 5.0T MR system, the uMR Jupiter 5.0T.
It is the first machine to facilitate whole-body clinical applications, and allows radiologists to visualize anatomical features not possible with 3.0T MR, utilizing 5.0T magnet can be installed in a 3.0T-sized room.
"Thanks to its higher resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, uMR Jupiter 5T is more likely to detect diseases with subtle abnormalities and small lesions in all body parts, such as incipient tumors, neurodegenerative diseases, multiple sclerosis, and cardiovascular disorders," United Imaging's global MR product manager told HCB News.

The system uses the company’s new uAIFI Technology Platform, which is made up of advanced AI applications and hardware innovations and meant to make uMR scanners better at capturing high quality images faster and easier.
This includes ACS, the first AI-assisted MR acceleration technology cleared by the FDA for 2D and 3D imaging. Another is EasySense, the first dual-source millimeter-wave radar solution that creates a “belt-less” experience and streamlines workflow, according to United Imaging.
United Imaging is preparing the CE and FDA submissions for the uMR Jupiter 5.0T, and will announce commercial availability at the right time by each region.
