Washington, D.C. – The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), the leading organization and collective voice of medical imaging and radiopharmaceutical manufacturers, innovators, and product developers – today welcomed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) recent final guidance providing recommendations for medical device cybersecurity considerations for premarket submissions.

“The FDA’s guidance is another indicator of the agency’s capabilities to ensure safe and effective devices in the digital age,” said Patrick Hope, MITA’s Executive Director. “With medical device manufacturers already implementing the recommendations included in the FDA’s guidance, MITA urges all actors across the healthcare ecosystem to rise to the challenge to protect this vital sector from cybersecurity attacks.”
