GE is promoting its MyBreastAI Suite, a collection of software programs. Three of these programs were developed by their partner iCAD; Profound AI, PowerLook Density Assessment, and SecondLook. These software solutions assist radiologists in reading images, scoring breast density, and decreasing the time radiologists need to spend examining the images for lesions.
Fujifilm’s Aspire Cristalle can be configured with Transpara AI, a collection of software developed by ScreenPoint Medical. Like GE’s MyBreastAI Suite, Transpara Perception Aid, Transpara Decision Support, and Transpara Score, assist in image reading and scoring breast density.

While all mammography vendors have released and promoted some kind of AI software in the last year, Siemens is the only vendor to release a new mammography system. The MAMMOMAT B.brilliant received FDA clearance in April 2024. This system can acquire images in as little as five seconds. Faster acquisition times lead to a faster workflow and the shorter exam can decrease patient discomfort. Siemens’ MAMMOVISTA B.smart reading platform utilizes AI. It optimizes radiologists’ workflow, making reading exams easier and quicker, and the AI algorithm provides a confidence score with each reading.
AI software is proving to be revolutionary for mammography by improving early detection of breast cancer and decreasing radiologist burnout. Research and development of AI software will continue in the mammography market for the foreseeable future.
